Choose the Right Round-Bottom Wok
Shop professional carbon steel round-bottom woks from London Wok, available in 13, 14 and 16-inch sizes. The curved base concentrates heat at the centre and gives you cooler cooking zones around the sides—ideal for fast stir-frying, tossing noodles, frying rice, searing meat and cooking vegetables.
Why choose a round-bottom wok?
-
Responsive carbon steel: heats quickly and gives you precise control at high temperatures.
-
Traditional curved profile: makes tossing ingredients easier and helps use less cooking oil.
-
Professional choice: suited to Chinese takeaways, restaurants, street-food kitchens and experienced home cooks.
-
Sizes for every kitchen: compare compact 13-inch woks, versatile 14-inch models and larger 16-inch pans.
Hob compatibility
Round-bottom woks are designed for a commercial wok burner, gas flame or suitable wok ring. They do not sit securely on a standard flat electric, ceramic or induction hob. For those cooktops, choose a flat-bottom wok unless the appliance manufacturer confirms compatibility.
Before first use
Most uncoated carbon steel woks must be washed, dried and seasoned before cooking. Regular seasoning builds a natural cooking surface and helps protect the steel from rust. Always follow the care instructions supplied with your chosen model.
